Navigating FMCSA's Compliance, Safety, Accountability Program

In this critical training session, we will break down the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA) program, explaining the seven BASICs and recent changes to the CSA prioritization program. Learn how your performance in these areas can impact your safety rating and what you can do to stay compliant.

  • Understanding the CSA program and the seven BASICs (Behavioral Analysis and Safety Improvement Categories)
  • Exploring the new FMCSA CSA prioritization system and what it means for your CSA scores
  • The six factors considered during a compliance review and how to prepare for an audit
  • The importance of having safety management controls in place and what documents officers will request from motor carriers during an investigation

This course is a must for safety managers, compliance officers, and anyone responsible for ensuring your fleet’s compliance with FMCSA regulations. Join us to gain valuable insights that will help you protect your safety rating and minimize the risk of violations and penalties.

Recommended Material:
This course will cover the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation book. You may bring your own or purchase on site for $25.

Meet the Trainer: 

Mike Brust grew up around trucking, his dad was a truck driver and he holds a class A CDL. Brust has a degree in Transportation & Logistics from the University of Arkansas and has over 25 years in the trucking industry. His prior experience includes more than 20 years at FedEx Freight as their corporate safety manager, 2 years as the director of safety for Southern Refrigerated Transport and 3 years working for Protective Insurance performing safety and loss prevention services.

In his current role as director of safety and loss prevention with the Arkansas Trucking Association, Brust assists with the ATA Self Insurers’ Fund for workers compensation, conducts mock DOT & OSHA audits, and performs certifications for both forklifts and hazardous material as well as answering questions pertaining to DOT and OSHA regulations. Brust is a NATMI Certified Director of Safety, Certified Driver Trainer and an Approved Professional Safety Source for the Arkansas Workers Compensation Commission along with being a certified NATMI instructor.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Registration fees will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received in writing by the Arkansas Trucking Association, getinfo@arkansastrucking.com, no later than the close of business, July 16, with a 3% cancellation fee applied. No refunds will otherwise be made.
